I got this idea from a podcast [[Gaston Schmitz]] shared with me. It’s a conversation between Tim Ferriss and Jim Dethmer[^1].
Jim describes himself as a "smuggler of good ideas," meaning he takes good ideas from people in other fields and bring them into his work.
For Jim, a good idea has two equally important qualities:
1. **It makes a big claim:** Something that's too good to be true.
2. **It’s incredibly simple:** The process of putting the claim into practice is so simple that it can be captured on a three by five card and turned into a daily practice.
I like Jim's definition a lot, and inspired by it, I call such ideas *Simple, Big Claims.*
Below is a growing list of the ones I find useful.

[^1]: After listening to the [podcast](https://tim.blog/2020/06/09/jim-dethmer-transcript/), I read Jim's book — [[The 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership]]. If you're going to read just one book on leadership or management, this is the one I recommend.
